Hooked on theatre since age 7 when she saw her first Broadway show, Andrea Markowitz earned degrees in English, music and psychology, and pursued careers in advertising, human resources, teaching, writing and editing before authoring her first play, FEEDING THE FURIES, which was awarded a staged reading at the Pandora Festival of New Works in Mesa, Arizona, and won Third Prize at the Baltimore Playwrights Festival. Her next play, A VERY GOOD TIME FOR HEALING won first prize in the Helen-Jean Play Contest. A New Jersey native, she now resides in Arizona where with husband, Pat O’Brien, their 2 rescue dogs, Chipper and Coco.
