In 2018 Ruth Zamoyta received a NJ State Arts Council playwriting fellowship. Her plays The Caregivers and The Fencers were semifinalists for Bay Area Playwrights Festival, and The Caregivers was given special consideration for American Playwriting Foundation’s Relentless Award. Her play The Incels was developed at Art House Productions in 2019, The Widow is being developed through NJ Women Playwrights program, and The Heiress and the Dancer is being developed through NJ Play Lab. Her plays have had readings at NY Madness/The Anthropologists, Luna Stage Company, Dreamcatcher Rep, Art House Productions, Jersey City Theatre Center, and a production at Mile Square Theatre. She is a member of The Dramatists Guild and the International Centre for Women Playwrights. She holds a BA summa cum laude from St. John’s University, an MA from NYU, and a MS from Columbia University. She is the Director of Development at South Orange Performing Arts Center, where she is responsible for $1.5MM in contributed income.
