    Mary Steelsmith's Eileen Heckart Award-winning play, HAPPY AND GAY (two women stressing over how to correctly' decorate their church's fellowship hall for its first same-sex wedding), will be part of the "Best of DC SWAN Day plays 2009-2012."

    Their reading panel picked HAPPY AND GAY as one of the top 12 scripts read in the past four SWAN Day Marathons.

    DC SWAN Day will be celebrated Saturday, March 23, from 12:00 noon to 3:30 p.m., at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Ave NW, Washington, D.C.

    Loyalty. Sacrifice. Canada geese. A string quartet. A mountain cabin. And the Summer Solstice, the time when all things change.
    Based on and utilizing Ravel's String Quartet in F major in surprising ways, this 5-actor play will be read as part of the Friday Night Footlights series in the Frederick Loewe Room at Dramatists' Guild, 7th floor, 1501 Broadway, New York.  
    Admission is free but the Room only seats 45 people, so arrive early!
